Fiji football fans will have an opportunity to watch young women and men footballers taking the field as curtain raiser during the semi-finals and finals of the 2017 Vodafone Fiji FACT at Ratu Cakobau Park this weekend.
Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal says a top of the table clash in the Vodafone Youth League between Rewa and Navua will be played before the semi-finals on Saturday at 12pm.
“‘Rewa and Navua are on top form and their clash will be a thriller for fans to enjoy before the semi-finals, “Pal said.
Pal said the gates would open at 11am for the fans to come in early and watch the matches.
The first semi-final will be played between host Rewa and Labasa at 2pm while Suva will take defending champions Nadi at 4.30pm.
Pal says a huge crowd is expected to be Nausori as Rewa and Labasa have massive followers while Suva and Nadi will also have their fans.
“We are hoping fans will turn out in numbers to witness the Vodafone Fiji FACT semi-finals and final this weekend, “Pal said.
The Competitions manager says the ground is in tip top condition and they are working out on all the logistic of the games.
“Ratu Cakobau Park is all good condition and fans will have a lot to watch with the Youth games before the semi-final. I’m urging the fans to buy the tickets earlier since the first game is between Rewa and Labasa.”
The final will be played on Sunday and a curtain raiser match between Vodafone Fiji U16 Girls team Fiji Selection will be played at 12pm.
“Our Vodafone Fiji U16 Girls team is currently preparing the OFC Championship and that will give them a good exposure playing in the big crowd,”Pal said.
Pal said the girls needed the support of fans and urged fans to come out in numbers and watch our young girls in action.
The final kicks off at 2.30pm.
The ticket price is $10 flat and child under 12 is $4 and is sold at Fiji FA Headquarters in Vatuwaqa and Nausori Town Council office in Nausori.
