The 2017 Vodafone Premier League will end by August 20, say Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel.
Patel revealed this after a successful National League Board meeting last Sunday in Nausori.
“All the district officials have seen and agreed with the revised fixtures and we are confident to finish the Vodafone Premier League on time, “Patel said.
Patel said they wanted to finish the league on time to give more time for the Vodafone Fiji national team’s preparation for the Indonesia tour.
“We want the league to finish on time so the national players are not disturbed from their preparation and are injury free.”
Patel said the districts would have ample time to finish their local league.
“We want to create a football atmosphere everywhere from the national teams, districts teams and district club games.”
Patel said since the new Fiji Football season starts in October we would like finish everything for this season.
“We want to start new from the new season in October during the Courts Inter District Championship.
Meanwhile Nadi Youth led the Vodafone Youth League in the Western Zone while Rewa is on top in the Southern Zone and Dreketi Youth lead the Northern Zone.
In the Vodafone Senior League Bua leads the Vanua Levu zone while Tavua is on top in the Viti Levu Zone.
