The Vodafone National U16 and U19 extended squad will march into camp this Sunday.
National U16 coach Yogendra Dutt confirmed an extended squad has been named and the players are supposed to report to Fiji Football Association Academy in Ba this week.
Dutt, along with his assistants Shalen Lal and Sunil Kumar, had a huge task of naming the squad after conducting the final trials last week.
“The task had been enormous with 37 players vying for the selection of 25 member extended squad.
“We rigidly followed on various things which are in our criteria to name the extended squad,” Dutt said.
“We have got a lot of talents in Fiji which has to be molded into a team and it will be a good experience to be with these young boys because at national level, this is the youngest age group which we cater for, that is under 17.”
He confirmed that all the players will be enrolled into schools in Ba to continue with their studies while they will be in camp.
The U16 playoffs will be played from September 9-22 in Solomon Islands as Fiji is in group B along with Tahiti, New Caledonia and a qualifying stage winner.
