BA Football Association president Praneel Dayal has capped off a remarkable first year in office after the Men in Black completed a clean sweep of Fiji’s four major domestic football titles.
Dayals Steel Ba FC secured their fourth title of the season after defeating Vantex Solutions Navua FC 2-0 in the final of the 86th FMF Inter-District Championship at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Sunday.
The victory added the IDC crown to Ba’s Fiji FACT, Extra Premier League and Extra Battle of the Giants triumphs, completing a dream season for Dayal and his administration.
For Dayal, who took over the presidency determined to restore Ba’s dominance in domestic football, the achievement marks a successful start to his leadership.
The Men in Black entered the season with high expectations, and their performances throughout the year have rewarded the faith shown by the association and its supporters.
Ba’s latest triumph came through second-half goals from David Supa in the 80th minute and Etonia Dogalau, who converted a penalty seven minutes later.
The result sparked celebrations among the Ba faithful as the district completed an outstanding season.
Behind the success has been the combined effort of the players, coaching staff, executives, sponsors and supporters, with Dayal overseeing a campaign that has brought silverware and renewed pride to the football-mad town.
Winning four major titles in his first year as president is a significant achievement for Dayal, particularly given the pressure and expectations that come with leading one of Fiji’s most successful football districts.
While attention will soon turn to defending the titles next season, Dayal and the Ba football family can take pride in a campaign that has delivered on their ambitions.
For Dayal, the mission is accomplished. For Ba, 2026 will be remembered as a season of four trophies and football glory.
