Newly Joined Clubs Reach NCC

Two newly formed clubs from Tailevu Naitasiri have qualified for the Vodafone National Club Championship this year.
 
Association secretary Sushil Singh said Navuso Barbarians and Lokia Landing were the two team that had qualified for the play-offs.
 
“Both team are new to Tailevu Naitasiri after joining this year and they have shown their capabilities by making it to the NCC,”Singh said.
 
He said Navuso Barbarians were the winners while Lokia Landing qualified as runners-up.
 
“Barbarians won the final 5-0 against Lokia to win the competition a fortnight ago, “Singh said.
 
He said in the semi-final Navuso Babarians defeated last year’s winners Lokia Sport 3-2 while Lokia Landing defeated Buiduna Sports 1-0.
 
“We wished both teams all the best and hope they will do all the fans proud with their performance.”
 
Navuso Babarians have the services of former Rewa midfielder Shelvin Prasad and striker Joseph Mishra while Lokia Landing has all the home grown boys.
 
The Vodafone National Club Championship zonal play-off will be played this weekend and the finals will be played next weekend.
