Fiji FA mourns loss of Satendra Nair

The Fiji Football Association President Rajesh Patel, its Board members and the whole football fraternity is saddened by the passing away of Satendra Nair.

Nair being a former coach for numerous districts contributed a lot on and off the football field.

Fiji FA Chief Executive Mohammed Yusuf says, the football fraternity is in shock to hear the sudden passing of Mr. Nair.

“Satendra Nair is one of those unsung heroes who has contributed immensely towards football in the past. He was a good coach and also a very educated person who did very well off the field as well.”

He coached teams like Rakiraki, Tavua, and Suva also coached National under 17 and under 20 teams.

Nair was a bank officer with the Fiji Development Bank and later joined TPAF as a lecturer. He was the deputy director of TPAF (now under FNU) at the time of his passing.

He will be remembered for his approachable and friendly nature.

Nair’s funeral will be held tomorrow.
