Rewa pays Verevou’s fine

#Fiji FA chief executive officer Bob Kumar confirmed receiving the fine from Rewa Football Association.#“Rewa Football Association wrote a letter to the Fiji FA Board of Control on 5th and 12th of December last year seeking reconsideration on Verevou’s suspension,” said Kumar.#“Fiji FA Board of Control discussed the issue during its meeting last month and it was resolved that since Fiji FA Arbitration Tribunal had already ruled that the player must pay the fine of $3360.00 before playing at any level of football, Verevou therefore was asked to pay his fine first.# #“The board of control made a decision for Verevou to pay the fine and now when the fine is paid the BOC will reconsider his request to play in consultation with the arbitration, “said Kumar. #Rewa Football Association president Nazeel Buksh says Verevou deserves to be in Fiji U-20 team.#”The side needs him on their side. Rewa has to come through and help Sefo get into the squad.”#”Verevou is a great player and needs that support. He is in top form and will fit in well if he gets back in again.”#Buksh also commended Fiji FA Board of Control for reconsidering their request.#The young star admits he has learnt his lesson and is hoping Fiji Football Association and team management will re-consider his plight.#”Missing out on football has been heartbreaking for me. It is my passion but I have learnt from what I have done. #“I have been through a lot of things in football but nothing this painful,” he said.#“It’s hit me really hard. It’s the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with as a footballer.# #“It was my dream to play in the World Cup, something so special to play for my country”.#He also thanked Rewa Football Association for backing behind him.#Late last year, Fiji FA announced that Verevou’s suspension had been reduced to $3360 and would remain suspended from all levels of football until July 31, after Rewa FA’s filed for arbitration against the decision. #He was earlier slapped with a $5000 fine and a three-year suspension from all levels of football.#Verevou and four other players were suspended from all levels of football for disciplinary reasons while being part of the Vodafone Fiji Under-20 side preparing for the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) under-20 World Cup playoffs.#Avikash Chand#Fiji FA Media#
