Premier League to resume in April

Fiji Football Association vice-president and national football league chairman Yogeshwar Singh said talks are underway with districts and hopefully all teams would soon start their preparations.#“It has been decided to resume the Vodafone Premier League in April during our board meeting and we are giving districts time to prepare, “said Singh.#He said they have had a busy football calendar this year but would try to finish the league on time.#“We are very tight in terms of football this year but we hope the districts will cooperate with us.#“Suva and Nadi will be out playing in the OFC Champions League and will not be playing till April end but we will try to put their games in mid week to catch up.#“We also have the Pacific Nations Cup and the Vodafone Fijian Under-23 side’s Brazil tour next month in build-up to the Rio Olympic Games, which will be held in August.”#Singh said alternative fixtures have been drafted and sent to districts and this will be finalised soon.#“We think we have to move on as we sympathise with those people affected by the cyclone.”#Singh and competition manager Amitesh Pal will be in the north on Sunday to meet with the district officials.#
