Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf has confirmed receiving two major application for the transfer of players since the transfer window opened on September 1.
Yusuf confirmed that he has received an official application from the two players interested in joining Lautoka.
“Lautoka had applied the transfer release of top Labasa and national striker Christopher Wasasala and former Olympian and Ba defender Praneel Naidu,”Yusuf said.
“Yes we have received an application from Wasasala and Naidu and all the parties have been notified.
All the documentation has been filed and the players will be cleared if both districts fulfill all the requirements,” he said.
Wasasala was Labasa’s top goal scorer in the Vodafone Premier League and also scored important goals for the Babasiga Lions in the Vodafone Fiji FACT and INKK Battle of the Giants.
“If there are no objections and the contractual obligations are met then the players should be cleared to play for their new district in the IDC,” he said.
Naidu featured for Labasa in last year’s Courts IDC and was one of the stars of the side in their 2-0 triumph over Ba in the grand final at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
