Three Islanders To Join Suva Squad

The Suva Football Association is likely to have services of three Islanders in their squad for the next season.

Association president Ritesh Pratap confirmed that they had talks with some Solomon Islands and Vanuatu students currently studying at the University of the South Pacific.

“We are having talks with some students from the USP and have applied ITC for one of the player but we are still waiting for the response from two others,”Pratap said.

He also confirmed applying for the release of former Fiji U20 midfielder Bruce Hughes from Rewa.

“We could not get his release in the previous window so we have applied again and are hopeful to get him into the squad.”

“Bruce us with us from the last window and we are really waiting for his clearance,”Paratp said.

Pratap said national midfielder Madhwan Goundar also showed interest in joining back from Rewa but they were still waiting words from him.

“We had talks with Madhwan and he showed is interest in joining again but we are still yet to get any words from him.”

Pratap said they have not received any words of any players who were moving from Suva yet.
