The Extra Premier League title race reaches a defining moment tomorrow when Extra Supermarket Labasa FC hosts league leaders Dayal’s Sawmillers Ba FC in a blockbuster Round 16 clash at Subrail Park.
Just one point separates the two sides heading into the encounter, with Ba leading the standings on 33 points and Labasa close behind on 32. Defending champions Rewa FC remain in contention on 29 points, making the outcome in Labasa significant to the championship race.
For Ba, victory would open a four-point lead with only two matches remaining and leave the Men in Black within one win of securing a record-extending 22nd league title.
Labasa, however, knows a home victory would lift the Babasiga Lions to the top of the standings and put the title race firmly in their hands heading into the closing rounds.
The match brings together the competition’s two most consistent sides this season.
Ba has combined resilience with attacking efficiency to sit atop the table, while Labasa has built its campaign on strong home performances and timely victories to remain firmly in the championship hunt.
The fixture also carries added significance for Ba, which is chasing its first league title since the 2018-19 season. Having already lifted the 2026 BiC Fiji FACT, the Men in Black have the opportunity to move a step closer to completing a memorable domestic double.
