Labasa defender Jotivini Tavua has been given the task once again to lead the Vodafone Fiji national women team to the Pacific Games in Samoa.
“To me to be given the captains’ role is a big achievement for me and I am proud that I will continue guiding the team from the Vanautu tour,”
“I am so proud to fly my countries flag at the Pacific Games and being given the captaincy role was something I never expected,”
“There were few other senior players in the squad and leading the team ahead of them is challenging for me,” she said.
Tabua said she had received a lot of support from the teammates and officials.
“I have a lot of responsibility and with the support of everyone it makes me easier to handle all obstacles,” said Tabua.
“We all have scarified for this Games and our aim is to win the Gold medal and bring it home,”
Tabua believes they have the strength to fulfil that dream
“Nothing is impossible and we are confident of making the country proud in the tournament.”
The Bula Girls won 11-0 against America Samoa in the opening match yesterday.
