Sixteen Cards on Day One

Sixteen yellow cards and three red cards were shown during the Day One of the 2017 Vodafone Fiji FA Cup Tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Four yellow cards and two red cards were shown in the first match between Suva and Rakiraki. Suva’s Jale Dreloa, Kelvin Naidu, Setareki Hughes were shown yellow cards by referee Veer Singh while Suva’s Emori Ragata was flashed a direct red card and.

Rakiraki’s Ratu Sairusi Nalewadonu was also sent off after getting his second booking of the match. Akei Ulibau got a yellow card in the match as well.

In the second match between Ba and Nadi three yellow cards were flashed by referee Ravitesh Bihari. Ba’s Saula Waqa and Nadi duo Alfraz Ali and Andrew Naicker were booked as well.

Two yellow cards were shown in the third match. Labasa’s Ilisoni Logavou and Akeimi Ralulu were shown yellow cards by referee Avinesh Narayan while Dreketi’s Setareki Sokoiwasa received the marching orders for double bookings.

Five yellow cards were shown in the last match between Rewa and Lautoka. Lautoka’s Kavaia Rawaqa, Samuela Drudru and Jone Vono Jnr and Rewa’s Amani Makoe and Epeli Saukuru were booked by referee Navneet Varman.

Suva’s Emori Raqata will miss two matches while Rakiraki’s Ratu Sairusi Nalewadonu and Dreketi’s Setareki Sokoiwasa will miss a match each.

Meanwhile Suva defeated Rakiraki 2-0, defending champions Nadi beat Ba 3-1, Labasa thrashed Dreketi 4-0 while Rewa and Lautoka played to a nil-all draw in the first day of the tournament.
