The Vodafone Fiji Primary School’s Championship will be played at Prince Charles Park in Nadi from August 22-24.
The launch of the championship and pool draws was done yesterday at Fiji FA Headquarters in Vatuwaqa.
Vodafone Fiji’s Sponsor Manager Adriu Vakarau said Vodafone Fiji had been partnering with Fiji Football Association to support the development of Football in the country.
“Through our sponsorship, we strengthen our bond with the sport, “Vakarau said.
“The true reflection of our passion and commitment for the sport can be seen in our bid to firm-up the foundation of football by support to the grass root level of Football in the country. We are proud to be the name behind our football teams in supporting them to achieve victory. “
Vakarau said the Primary Schools Football Championship had grown in stature since its inception in 1975 with the many district schools entering the competition.
“This year we will witness a total of 28 teams take part in the boy’s Under 14 and 12 divisions and I am delighted to say that yet again this year there will be 4 girls team in these championship and; I SALUTE the committee for making this possible. “
Vakarau said this was the 2nd year that we came on board as sponsors for Primary Schools Football and we were confident that through our financial boost and training we would help mold the young blood into stars of tomorrow.
He said he was pleased to announce another great news for the team; to boost the morale of our youngsters Vodafone would be providing jerseys for all the teams partaking in the Vodafone Primary School’s Football Championship this year.
Vakarau said he acknowledged the efforts of the Fiji Primary Schools Association for their part in organizing the 2017 Vodafone Primary Schools Championship and welcome all the districts partaking in this year’s competition.
