Nadi breaks Churchill Park jinx

The Jacks of Fiji Nadi Football team has finally broken the jinx at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

This was after the Jetsetters won the Vodafone Fiji FACT 2019 beating Suva 2-1 in the final to register their first ever tournament win hosted in Lautoka.

An elated winning president Javed Ahmed said it felt great to finally broken the jinx.

“It feels great Nadi winning here at the Churchill Park for the first time ever,” Ahmed said.

“I give credit to the Almighty because with his blessings and will, we have done it.

“Since day one I have been reminding them (Players) that nobody is a star here, they maintained discipline since joining the camp and I salute my boys for believing in themselves.”

Ahmed said this win is for those who believed in the team.

“This win is also to the die-hard fans who have been supporting us after people already counting us out before the tournament and after our first game.

“To our sponsors Jacks of Fiji, thank you for keeping your trust in us.”

He said prizemoney will be shared among the players.

“The prizemoney belongs to the players.

“We will organize a thanks-giving function to reward the players.”
