LALAGAVESI READY TO LIVE HIS FIJI DREAM

Labasa’s Jone Lalagavesi is on the verge of fulfilling a lifelong dream after earning a place in the Bula Boys squad for the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2026 in Suva.
The 23-year-old is excited and humbled by the opportunity to wear the Fiji jersey and is ready to make his senior international debut if given the chance.
Lalagavesi said representing Fiji was something he had dreamed about since he started playing football.
“It is a proud and emotional moment for me. Every footballer dreams of representing their country, and I am excited and humbled to be part of the national team,” Lalagavesi said.
“I know this is a big responsibility, and I am ready to give my best whenever the coach gives me the opportunity.”
The Labasa youngster has worked hard to earn his national team call-up and now hopes to repay the faith shown in him by the coaching staff.
He said joining the Bula Boys camp and training alongside some of Fiji’s leading players had been a valuable experience.
“I have learned a lot since joining the camp. The intensity is high, and everyone is working hard for a place in the team,” he said.
“My focus is to continue learning, work hard and be ready. If I get the chance to make my debut, I will give everything for the jersey, my family, Labasa and the people of Fiji.”
Lalagavesi is among the young talents selected by head coach Stephane Auvray for the regional tournament at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
The MSG Prime Minister’s Cup provides him with the perfect stage to announce himself at international level and take another important step in his football journey.
