The Labasa under 17 team won the Vodafone National under 17 League northern zone beating Seaqaqa 2-0 in the second and final leg last weekend.
Coach Roneel Ram was lost for words but saluted his young brigadiers’ for the effort.
“I salute my boys for the hard work and commitment they have shown, “Ram said.
He said the boys sacrificed months for the tournament and all the hard work paid off.
“The team started training in March and sacrificed months preparing for the competition.
“Sincere thanks to the parents for their cooperation. The boys had lots of patience as playing football and balancing with the school work needs a lot of patience.”
The goals were scored by Rohan Nath in the 80th minute and Saimone Mataomi scored the second goal in the 87th minute.
Labasa won on 5 goals to 2 on aggregate after the home and away basis.
Team captain Nathan Hussain thanked Fiji Football for organizing the games and helping football grow in north.
He dedicated the win to their coach Roneel Ram, players, families and fans.
