The Labasa football side have won four IDC titles and all have been on the southern soil with three at ANZ Stadium and one at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
ANZ Stadium seems to be the lucky ground for the Babasiqa Lions and with the support of ardent fans Labasa will be out to give something back to their fans after failing in the Vodafone Fiji FACT and INKK Mobile BOG this year.
Labasa is always crowd favourites and their fans are die hard and very vocal as they will put their full support as twelfth player in their campaign.
In 2016 edition of the Courts IDC, the Babasiqa Lions defeated Ba 2-1 in the final at ANZ Stadium in Suva and will be aiming for the same this year.
They are coached by former rep Johan Leewai and included former Lautoka and Rewa striker Siotama Kubu together with Dreketi’s Akeimi Ralulu, Peni Sokia,Sisa Valesua,Daniel Dass,Inia Veitaukula and Tavua’s Vilitati Kautoga.
Labasa will bank on experience goalkeeper Akuila Mataisuva, defenders Taniela Waqa, Jale Dreloa, Edwin Sahayam, Pita Levaci and Ilisoni Logaivalu.
The Babasiqa Lions will start their campaign against Nasinu on Friday October 5 at 3.30pm and takes on Lautoka on Saturday at 4pm and their final Group A fixture will be against Ba at 5pm on Sunday.
