The Fiji Football Association Regional Academy team will be fielding two teams during the Fiji Cup Tournament which kicks off this Sunday in Nadi and Ba.
The Fiji Cup Tournament is an annual event where teams from Australia plays matches with Fiji teams.
The tournament is played in all categories with Girls under 12, 16, and 18 with similar in the boy’s categories,
Tournament coordinator Rajendra Kant Sharma said the tournament is an annual event where Fiji players share a lot of experience with the Socceroo’s.
“This is an annual event where our teams all around the country participate in the week long competition,” said Sharma.
‘Our players will get lot of experience and exposure playing with the teams from Australia which is the most advantage.”
Sharma said Fiji teams had been preparing well for this tournament and eagerly await the start this Sunday.
“Our teams in each grade is ready and await the start of the tournament and I urge people to come out in Nadi and Ba to support our players.”
For the Regional Academy team, Sharma said it would be a great test for them as they prepare for the OFC Under 17 play offs which would be held in Tahiti in February next year.
“I think it will be a great opportunity for our under 17 coaches to select the best players and build the team combination, “said Sharma.
The tournament kicks off on Sunday December 4 and ends on Friday 9 December at venues in Nadi and Ba.
