Extra Premier League Delivers Thrills After Completion of First Round

The completion of the first round of the Extra Premier League 2026 has produced excitement, surprises, and intense competition, with only a few points separating the top teams on the standings.

Extra Supermarket Labasa FC currently leads the table with 18 points after nine rounds of competition, following a goalless draw against Tailevu Naitasiri FC last weekend. The Babasiga Lions have shown consistency throughout the season and remain one of the strongest defensive teams in the league.

Dayal’s Sawmillers Ba FC sits closely behind in second place with 17 points despite suffering a 3-2 defeat to defending champions Stratum Rewa FC in one of the biggest matches of Round 9.

Rewa FC’s important victory has revived its title hopes, moving the Delta Tigers into third place on 16 points, level with Lautoka FC, who secured a 2-1 win over Tagimoucia Nadi FC.

Global Care Suva FC, which enjoyed time at the top of the standings earlier in the season, has slipped to fifth place after suffering a heavy 4-1 defeat to MMM Brothers & Coastal Rentals Nadroga FC in another major upset.

Nasinu FC has continued to impress this season and sits level with Suva on 14 points after battling to a 1-1 draw against Prithvi Navua FC.

Navua occupies seventh place with 11 points, while Nadroga FC moved up to eighth place after recording its second win of the campaign.

Tagimoucia Nadi FC has dropped to ninth place with seven points and now misses out on qualification for the BiC Fiji FACT 2026 alongside Tailevu Naitasiri FC, which remains at the bottom of the standings with three points.

The first round of competition has highlighted the unpredictable nature of this season’s league, with surprise results and close contests becoming a regular feature each weekend.
