The Ba Football Association will be applying for leave to appeal the decision of the Fiji FA Board control against the suspension of its players Ilmotama Jese and Narendra Rao.
The players were penalised for not attending the national team training to prepare for the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa.
Jese is suspended for three years from all levels of football and fined $10,000. He can only appeal after serving two years of his suspension; and Rao is suspended from all levels of football for the rest of the season and fined $3000.
Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said the players were given 14-days to appeal their suspension.
“The players were given 14 days to appeal their suspension and we have received a request from Ba FA and will facilitate after all requirements are done,” Yusuf said.
“Fiji FA board has agreed to give leave for the duo to file the Appeal to Fiji FA Appeals Committee headed by Justice Jiten Singh,” said Yusuf.
Yusuf said during the tribunal they had explained all the facts to the players who were also accompanied by their legal representatives.
“The players and their legal representatives understood and agreed to what was read out to them.”
