Tailevu Naitasiri beat Lami 4-1.#Amitesh Pal, the national league board secretary says Lami FA has been fined $700.00 which needs to be cleared before the association’s next participation. # “After going through the team list for the Lami-Tailevu Naitasiri youth which was played on February 23, it was discovered that all the players Lami fielded in the match were ineligible to play for the Lami youth side,” Pal said. #“The national league board as a result had no choice but to impose a fine of $50 for each ineligible/unregistered player totaling to $700.00 ($50 x 14) and this fine has to be paid prior to their next participation at any level (youth/premier) in the National League.” #The national league board is urging the various district associations to take heed of the weekly circulated team lists. #“To make work easier, national league board has been forwarding updated squad lists before every match so that teams can refer to that when filling team slips and knowing which players are cleared to play or not,” Pal stressed. #According to the national league board secretary, harsher penalties will follow if Lami FA commits a similar offence again. #“We have advised Lami FA to refrain from fielding ineligible players in future as they could become liable for harsher penalties,” Pal said. #The Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Premier division football league continues this weekend as Lami is scheduled to play against Tavua and Vatukoula. #Lami takes on Vatukoula 1pm at Saraswati ground in Manoca.
