No League for U19

The squad is currently in New Zealand for a tour in preparation for the Oceania Football Confederation 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup playoffs which will be played at ANZ Stadium in Suva from May 23-31. #The side is expected to be back in the country on May 9, 2014. #National team director,Taranesh Reddy says they cannot afford to lose any key players with the playoffs just around the corner. #“We cannot risk any injuries especially when we are just weeks away from the playoffs. Everyone is aware what is at stake at the playoffs with New Zealand not being part of it and our aim is to field the best possible side,” Reddy said. #“I urge the districts to support our national side and we will try our best to become the first Fiji side to qualify for a FIFA World Cup event,” he added. #Coach Ravinesh Kumar says the clash against the New Zealand Under-20 side will be the key test during the tour. #“Both NZ and Fiji side will be the same age group and the two games will reflect on what needs to be done before we head to the playoffs,” Kumar said. #Kumar has coached the past two national under-20 sides. In 2011 Fiji finished fourth and last year ended their campaign on second place. #Fiji FA MEDIA #
