Greetings to all#FIFA –INTERPOL Conference#The FIFA –INTERPOL Integrity in Sport-FIFA conference concluded on a high note last Thursday at the Sofitel Hotel in Nadi.#Firstly I would like to thank Minister for Sports Commander Viliame Naupoto and Acting Commissioner of Police Ravi Narayan for their presence at the two-day conference.#Secondly thanks also to the world football governing body FIFA and Oceania Football Confederation for considering Fiji as the host venue.#The conference highlighted various issues such as illegal betting, match manipulation and match fixing which is affecting football.#FIFA is working closely with INTERPOL to combat this problem and the delegates were reminded that every football region in the world was at risk.#Various initiatives are at hand to assist in combatting this issue and Fiji Football Association will soon adopt the change and make necessary changes to our regulations to be #prepared for any scenario which we might face.#A single point of contact will be setup for anyone to report match fixing, manipulation and illegal betting. Fiji Football Association will also be working closely with our Police #force to deal with any reported matter.#But all this is in the pipeline at the moment and plans are to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fiji Police Force which will initially launch this new initiative in the country.#Oceania Champions League #As most of you may have heard that the Oceania Champions League matches has been shifted from Prince Charles Park to Churchill Park in Lautoka.#This means that Lautoka will host two groups while Govind Park in Ba will host one.#This is something which was beyond our control and we had no say on the issue. As organisers of the Champions League, an OFC delegation inspected the venue and later decided.#OFC-FIFA seminar in Vanuatu#The inaugural OFC-FIFA player development seminar is taking place in Port Vila, Vanuatu this week.#Around 23 participants from around the Oceania member associations are attending the four-day seminar.#Fiji FA coaches Juan Carlos Buzzetti and Imdad Ali are attending the seminar.#FIFA, OFC and Asia Pacific Football Academy staff are working together to bring the OFC member associations a plan and a strategy for their youth player development.# Fiji FA MEDIA
