Ba clashes with defending champions

#Ba defeated Amicale FC 2-0 last Saturday at home which saw the Fijians topping the group A with 16 points and remains on course of winning the Champions League title. #The scores were locked at nil-all at the half time breather but Ba came firing in the second half with Nigerian Sanni Issa nailing home the spot kick on the 59 th minute of play to rocket his goal scoring tally to nine goals in six matches. #Substitute Abbu Zahid extended Ba’s lead in the 84 th minute when the Amicale goalie fumbled inside the penalty box and Zahid sent the ball neatly into the net.# #Ba coach Yogendra Dutt said they carried on with the momentum in the match and they have achieved what they have come to do in the match.#“We did well against Amicale and we have come in a match with only aim which was to win and that is what we have achieved at the end of the match. We have topped the pool so it’s the liberty of the topping team to play away semifinal,” Dutt said.#Amicale FC had the services of the Labasa rep Latia Tuilau who skippered the side against Ba as Amicale also missed a penalty in the 4 th minute of the first half.#Amicale coach Richard Iwai ruined the chances his side got in the match and the lapse of concentration cost the game for the side. #“We played well in the first half in the match but we have qualified for the semifinal, we committed few mistakes in the second half and then we conceded the goals in the match, the mistakes cost us the game. We always aim to play in the Champions League and will be aiming that every year. Now we will prepare for the semifinal.” Losing coach Iwai said.#Ba is the only undefeated side in the competition and plays Auckland City. #
