Veteran striker welcomes U23 invite

Rabo said he is looking forward in getting a lot of knowledge and experience while coaching alongside Fiji national coach Frank Farina.#“I’m really happy to be part of the national u23 team and I’m looking forward to learn more things, “he said.#Rabo said he has learnt a lot during the FIFA/OFC Youth Coaching course in Ba.#“It was a good course and I have learnt a lot from there as a player’s perspective and to become a coach I found it very different.#“It will also help me in refreshing my knowledge from what I have learnt from the course.”#The former national rep said he likes the way Farina has been coaching and getting on with the players.#“He does things very simple and in a very professional way, “he said.#Rabo wants to gain lots of knowledge in coaching before taking a step further in coaching a team.#“At the moment I’m not looking forward to coach any team but I’m looking forward to gain the experience and knowledge before I start coaching.#The 39-year-old Kuku native from Tailevu who started his playing his football career in Rewa is not thinking of hanging his boots at the moment but is going to play for two or three more years.#“I’m not thinking of quitting now because I know I’m still fit and I have a passion for football.”#Farina said Rabo is very keen and showed lots of enthusiasm during the coaching course.#“He was basically recommended by the FIFA/OFC coaching instructor Giovani Fernandes.#“He showed lots of enthusiasm and he also has lots of free time and we are lack men in terms of coaching staff and I put the question to him to come in and observe and he agreed.”#Farina said he was proud of Rabo and thinks he would be a great coach one day as he has passion for football.#
