Sigatoka Valley High aims to win

SVHS finished the West Zone on top with maximum of 12 points with an undefeated run humiliating its opponents – Nadi Muslim College 2-0, Maharishi Sanatan College 3-0, Swami Vivekananda College 4-0 and Nadi College 1-0.
Team coach Pramesh Kumar said it is a big achievement for the school.
“Last year we introduced soccer for the first time for the boys and they did competed well in the secondary school competition,” said Kumar.
“This year for the first time we have even field a girl’s team in the Under 16 competition. The girls are happy with their performances to be undefeated in their first outings; this is incredible achievement to score such goals.
He also commended Fiji Football Association for the grand job of introducing the competition for the girl’s age group at secondary level.
“It was just hidden talents that have been discovered now in rural schools like ours but there is abundant of talents out there,” he said.
“We now look forward to the play off in Ba. We expect tough competition as zone champions will battle out but we are optimistic with our chances.”
