VPL League matches called off

Fiji Football Association vice president and National League Board chairman Yogeshwar Singh said they have taken into consideration the current weather pattern and had no option but to call off all the games.#“We have called off all the games scheduled for this weekend because we understand the weather is not to our favour and the teams have not trained because of flooding.”#Singh said they were already behind in the league competition, but all is beyond their control.#“We are much behind in the league due to the natural disasters but we are confident we will finish it on time with the support of the districts.#“The matches will also be played during the week days and where possible, some teams will have to play two games in a weekend,” said Singh.#“This is a very hectic year in football for Fiji as our teams Suva and Nadi are participating in the OFC Champions League, our U23 side will tour Brazil at the end of April and their participation in the Rio Olympics in August together with the senior team taking part in the Pacific Nations Cup.”#Singh said the districts are very supportive as well.#
