The Vodafone Premier League will now be played after the INKK Battle of the Giants Tournament.

Fiji FA Competitions Manager Amitesh Pal confirmed that the competition would re-start from August 11.

“Looking at the intense competitiveness of the VPL this year, it is expected that we will go to finals stages of the competitions to ascertain the winners.”

Pal said this was due to some of the districts key players committed with the National team for the Pacific Games 2019.

“Some key players from the districts are committed with the national team for the South Pacific Games so we have decided to commence the league after BOG as well because some team will also make use the transfer window which is open till July 15.

“From the 17/08/19 all the teams will be playing evenly week in week out till the end of the competition with a possibility of teams playing all 4 matches of round 15 at same times and date for fair outcome.”

Pal confirmed that the new fixtures was approved during the Fiji FA Council meeting on Sunday at Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbor.
