Top eight teams

The 2018 Courts Inter District Championship senior division competition will be equally competitive as the Major Division.
The introduction of the eight best teams in the tournament are set to provide more competition in the division as the eight teams race to become the best Senior Division team in the country.
The top eight teams have been divided into two and the matches are scheduled to start with the Premier Division.
Defending champions Nadroga is drawn in Group A together with last year’s finalist Navua and northerners Seaqaqa and Taveuni while Group B consists of Lami, Savusavu, Rakirakia and Tailevu Naitasiri.
Nadroga are not favourites to retain their title following their performance in the Vodafone Senior League. But the Coral Coast side have been a champion side and know what it takes to turn the table.
Lami after failing to qualify in the top division went down 1-0 against Nasinu in the Vodafone Senior League play-offs will be out to prove themselves while Navua after losing last year’s final will come out strong this year.
Savusavu, Seaqaqa and Taveuni will be playing as the pride of North as they take one the southern sides in the tournament.
Tailevu Naitasiri and Rakiraki have a lot to prove after been in the top division for few seasons will be aiming for the prizemoney on stake.
Out of the eight teams participating this year, any of the sides could tackle the big boys in the Premier Division.
Nadroga and Seaqaqa will kick off the Senior Division competition on Friday October 5 at 9.30am at ANZ Stadium while at 11am Navua and Taveuni will tackle at Buckhurst Park. At 11.30 am Lami will face Savusavu at ANZ Stadium and Rakiraki and Tailevu Naitasiri will meet at 1pm at Buckhurst Park.
On day two at 10am Nadroga and Navua will feature at ANZ Stadium while at the same time Savusavu will face Tailevu Naitasiri at Buckhurst Park. The senior division matches continues at Buckhurst where at 12pm Taveuni will face Seaqaqa and at 2pm Lami and Rakraki will take the field.
In final Group matches on Sunday at 9am Lami will take on Tailevu Naitasiri at ANZ Stadium, at 10am Nadroga will play Taveuni at Buckhurst Park while at 12pm Rakiraki will face Savusavu and at 2pm Navua and Seaqaqa will clash at Buckhurst Park.
The semi-final will be played on Tuesday October 9 and the finals on the following day.
Senior competition at the Courts Inter District Championship is well followed and it will interesting to see who comes out on top come Wednesday.
