The Suva Football Association has accepted the resignation of its coach Intiaz Khan.
Khan has resigned following their 2-1 loss over Labasa in the Vodafone Premier League on Sunday.
The former Suva and national midfielder told Fiji FA media after the match that he could not continue as the coach for Suva Football as officials were not happy with the side’s achievement under his leadership.
“It’s just a bit of differences and it’s not the first time it happened, it’s been happening for a while. It’s a blame game and I think I don’t deserve it. If the team wins the team wins, if the team loses the team loses. I’m the most affected here.”
Suva Football President Ritesh Pratap denied what Khan said saying there were no differences between them.
Pratap says they have accepted Khan’s decision of stepping down as coach.
“This is his own call. He has resigned and we received his resignation letter.”
However Pratap said that they were not happy with the achievement of the team under his leadership as they have lost four matches in the first round for the first time. Khan took over the coaching position with the Suva team in January this year
