Rewa president Nazeel Buksh will continue with his post until the Delta Tigers annual congress in August.
Buksh revealed this after Rewa’s Vodafone Fiji FACT victory at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on Sunday.
The Nausori businessman earlier announced his departure due to other commitments.
The proud president said he would stay as president with his executives until Rewa’s annual congress in August.
“There have been several request from the fans and the club officials for me to continue and also from Fiji FA so I decided to stay this season,”Buksh said.
He said it was important for them to see Rewa complete the 2017 season as their ultimate goal was to qualify for the OFC Champions League again.
The Rewa board he said and the council and had decided that the current executives would continue until August when the season ended
“Buksh have been behind Rewa Football for past twelve years and helped the tigers win all the major tournament and also qualified for the OFC Champions League.
Rewa defeated Nadi 1-0 in the final before winning 6-5 against Labasa in the first semi-final while Nadi defeated Suva 6-2.
The Lorima Dau captained side walked away with $15000 prize money while Nadi received $4000
