Former Nasinu Football Association president Jitendra Reddy is Fiji Football Association’s vice-president for the southern division.
Reddy, a lawyer by profession, contested the vice presidents seat in the Southern division against Sandeep Roy, president of Tailevu Naitasiri Football Association while Jainendra Sukhu opted not to contest due to medical reasons.
Reddy started his career with Rewa Football Association in 1991-93 as assistant secretary while working as a court clerk, he then moved to Labasa from 1994-96 and served as vice president and to Nadi Football Association from 1997-99 where he was team manager and also vice president before he returned to Rewa.
He then joined Lami football and four years later he was appointed Nasinu football president.
Reddy said he was confident to win the seat with the backing of the all the districts.
“I have a lot of experience in football beginning from the grassroots level and am extremely happy. I am in for the betterment of football in the country,” he said.
“I would like to thank Sadasivan Naicker, the former president of Nasinu Football, and every district who voted for me.”
Reddy defeated Tailevu/Naitasiri’s Sundeep Roy 39- 8.
Meanwhile Jitendra Kumar (JK) (Western), Girja Prasad (Northern) and Susan Wise (Women) were re-elected.
Kumar, beat former Nadi Football president Navneeda Goundar 36-11.
“I am looking forward to team up with Fiji FA and thank all the districts who voted for mem,”Kumar said.
Prasad is ready to serve the Northern division for four more years.
“I will be working even harder to improve the standard of football up north.”
Wise was honoured to be re-elected.
“I would like to thank Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel and the board for appointing me as the women vice-president,” Wise said.
“I know I can do better and there is always room for improvement.”
Former Fiji FA chief executive officer Bob Kumar was appointed a Life Member.
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel is looking forward to working with the vice-presidents.
“We hope to work together for the betterment of football in the country.
Outgoing vice president Jainendra Sukhu said he had great opportunity to work with the Fiji FA Board for the betterment of football in this country.
“I am thankful to the current Fiji FA Board for giving me opportunities in working with them and my vast knowledge in administration as the secretary for National League,”
