Lautoka Football Association president Abdul Kadar believes his boys would do the job right should there be no hindrances before the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Champions League quarter-final clash on Sunday.
Preparation in Fiji has been wrapped up as the team prepares to leave for Tahiti this afternoon.
Kadar wholeheartedly thanked Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) board and executives for their support towards the Blues’ OFC campaign.
“The preparation went quite well despite the rainy conditions in the Western Division.
“We also got assistance from the national head coach Christophe Gamel and goalkeeper coach Xavier Henneuse.
“The presence of Gamel itself boosted the morale of the players during the training sessions we had in Lautoka.
“At this juncture, I would like to thank Fiji Football Association executives for their tremendous support towards our team,” he said.
Lautoka finished second in Group C after recording two consecutive victories over Madang FC of Papua New Guinea 3-1 and Tahiti’s Venus FC 2-1 respectively, before going down to defending champions Auckland City 1-0 in the last group match.
The tireless working president said they were aware of the AS Dragons being group winners and the home ground would be an added advantage for them.
“As we all know that AS Dragons came out winners from their group and home support will be an added advantage, we will also put up a good show — come the game day.
“For the fans, please pray for our team’s good health and strength and we will definitely try our best to make you all proud.”
The Vodafone sponsored-Lautoka side will meet AS Dragons 6pm (Fiji time) on Sunday, April 8.
