North referees particiapte in stage two course

Twenty Four referees from the Northern Division participated in the stage two of a referee’s course held at Nasavusavu Buca Secondary School grounds in Savusavu last week.
Fiji FA referees director Rakesh Varman said the three days course saw huge interest from the referees.
“They were all happy to upgrade their knowledge on refereeing and learn the new laws of the game,”Varman said.
Varman said Fiji FA was fully committed in development of referees in the country.
“It is good see that people are showing interest in becoming better referees,”
“Refereeing is a very challenging task, but the people with courage and dedication will always reach higher levels,”
Varman said there was always criticism against referees making blunders but they always did their best.
“Refereeing is hard job and referees make mistakes so we are trying to give everything to referees so they prepare themselves well for the games and feel confident on the field and be able to deal with any unexpected situations. We are trying to reduce the errors made by referees.”
Varman said the same course would be held this week in the western division and later for the south referees.
