The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility after handing over a cheque of $51,574 to WOWS Kids Fiji, raised through the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants (BOG) and FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC).
The contribution is part of Fiji FA’s ongoing partnership with WOWS Kids Fiji, which supports children battling cancer and their families across the country.
Under the association’s charitable initiative, one dollar from every ticket sold at major Fiji FA tournaments is set aside to support the organisation.
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said football was not only about winning trophies and developing players but also about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
“Fiji FA remains steadfast in supporting our communities both on and off the field. These contributions reflect our core values and our responsibility to give back,” Patel said.
He acknowledged the thousands of football fans who supported the two major tournaments, saying their contributions had helped the association continue its commitment towards children battling cancer.
The partnership between Fiji FA and WOWS Kids Fiji was formalised through a memorandum of understanding in 2023, establishing the one-dollar contribution from tournament ticket sales.
Since then, the association has continued to support the charitable organisation through its major football competitions.
WOWS Kids Fiji works closely with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to provide assistance to children diagnosed with cancer, including support for their families during treatment.
