Labasa president stands proud

The Labasa women’s football team president Sharmila Devi stood proud as she saw her girls lifting the Vodafone Women’s IDC 2018 at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on Sunday.
Labasa outclassed a star-studded Ba women’s team 2-0 in a pulsating final.
Devi said it was a great feeling indeed.
“Indeed, a great feeling,” she said.
“Last time we won the title was back in 2015 and we are taking the trophy back to Vanua Levu again this year.
“I’m really proud of my girls.”
She said it was not easy for them to bring the team to Viti Levu.
“We have struggled a lot to come here especially in terms of finance, and I’m extremely proud how the girls performed today (Sunday).”
Devi said the prizemoney will be given back to the girls.
“The prizemoney definitely belongs to the girls.
“I have already promised the girls that we will throw a party for them this Saturday.”
She said their next aim is to get the CVC title to Labasa.
“We are now eyeing the CVC title to bring it to Labasa.”
