FIFA president Gianni Infantino has congratulated Lautoka Football for winning the 2017 Vodafone Premier League and booking a spot in the OFC Champions League.
In statement Infantino said it gave him great pleasure to send his warmest congratulation to Lautoka FC for their fourth ever championship title.
“This title is the result of the determination of everyone involved and my congratulations go to the players, the coach, the administration, the entire technical and medical staff as weII as the fans for this great achievement,”Infantino said.
He said on behalf of the entire football community, he would like to thank Lautoka F.C. and Fiji Football Association for helping to spread the positive message of football.
Lautoka finished on top of the table with 31 points registering 9 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss after two full round of 14 matches.
Ba became the second team from Fiji to qualify for the OFC Champions League once again this year after finishing second with 26 points, two points ahead of Nadi who finished third with 24 points.
Suva and Labasa finished with 19 points, however the Capital City Boys pushed Labasa to fifth place with a better goal difference.
Rewa finished on sixth spot with 13 points while Tavua survived in the premier division with 12 points sending Dreketi down to the senior division
