Vodafone Fiji football coach Christophe Gamel is trying his best to secure the services of England based Scott Waara to play for the national team.
Gamel met Waara on his current trip to Europe and is trying come to an agreement with his club to be released for national duties.
Gamel was present to witness Waara debut for Stoke City against Coventry in the FA Cup competition last weekend.
The national coach was impressed with his performance and wants Waara to play for Fiji.
Gamel says he will leave the decision on Waara to opt for which country he wants to represent as he is eligible to play for England as well.
“He is very much interested to play for Fiji but he has a lot to think,”Gamel said.
According to Gamel, the talks are slowly taking shape and he is hopeful for a positive outcome.
Warra is a Fiji born and left the country when he was seven years old and also carries Fiji passport.
The Frenchman also visited Qatar and had talks with the Aspire and Aspetar Academies to play matches against the youth national teams In future.
