The Vodafone national women’s team will leave our shores tomorrow for the Tri-Nations FIFA International Friendly against Vanuatu and Singapore in Vanuatu.
Coach Marika Rodu said they were taking the tour as a build up for the South Pacific Games next month.
“We have prepared well for this tour because we will be taking this as our build-up for the South Pacific Games in Samoa, “said Rodu.
Rodu said the team is all set and ready to face the two sides in the competition.
“We have prepared well and the girls have done their hard work and I am sure they will do their best against both teams in Vanuatu,”
“It is not going to be easy because both teams have equally prepared to face us,”
Rodu said the girls knew their task and he was confident the girls would give the results.
“The onus is on the team now to perform after three weeks of hard training and I am happy that the girls have gelled well before the tour.
“The team is really bonded and I have seen the changes in their fitness level and can say they are all mentally fit to face Singapore and Vanuatu.
Despite missing some senior players Rodu said he had faith in his young players.
“There are few U19 girls who have replaced some of the senior players and I am very much confidence the new players will do the same work,”
Meanwhile the team made a special appearance at the Vodafone Tebara Carnival in Nausori on Wednesday and also visited the CWM Children’s Ward on Friday.
