Fiji’s National women’s football team, are at their fine-tuning stage, in preparation for the upcoming Pacific Games in Samoa next month.
Coach Marika Rodu says they are looking forward to win the gold medal in the football at this year’s competition.
“Fiji women’s side has only won bronze in the Pacific Games which was in 2007 and 2011 and were out in pool matches but our aim is to on top this year,” Rodu said
“Our aim is to win gold and we are working on our mistakes from the Tri- Nations series which we played against Singapore and Vanuatu.”
The former national rep said they had a good build up matches in Vanuatu.
“The two matches have given us fair idea of our strength and weakness so we have planned our training session to work out on that, “he said.
Rodu said all team would be coming well prepared for the competition.
“We will have to treat all our matches as finals,”
“There is no semi-final in the women’s football, so the one that comes at the top of the pool directly qualifies for the gold play-offs, so we want to be that team from our pool “added Rodu.
