Fiji FA Partners Fiji Times

Football fans can now grab a Tuesday Fiji Times to see the full coverage of football news after The Fiji Times became the official newspaper for Fiji Football.
Fiji FA and Fiji Times signed a three-year partnership at Fiji FA Headquarters in Vatuwaqa yesterday.
The historic agreement between two of Fiji’s oldest organisations was signed by Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel and The Fiji Times publisher and general manager, Hank Arts.
An eight-page liftout of local football news called Goal Fiji will be published in The Fiji Times every Tuesday.
Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel welcomed Fiji Times on board and said they were privileged and honoured to be part of the partnership agreement with Fiji Times.
“It is a new dawn for Fiji FA to partner with The Fiji Times, the oldest newspaper in Fiji. We have been here in football since 1938 and The Fiji Times had been from 1869. It is a good beginning, maybe it is a little bit late, but it is never too late in life. Media is a forum where it is never too late because media and the information they impart in the world is very important,” Patel said.
“For Fiji FA, it is very important for our football loving public and the younger generation who love to get involved in football. We have to give them all they aspire to become in life whether to become a journalist, footballer or even football administrator in future.
“We are here to grow the game and for us to grow the game, we need good a media partner and today we are happy that The Fiji Times has come on board to grow the game with us.”
Mr Arts said it was a historical moment for Fiji FA and The Fiji Times to come together to promote football.
“We had waited for some years for this opportunity,” Mr Arts said.
“The Fiji Times will be an integral partner and that is what we are aiming for. We will grab the opportunity with both hands and we want to see football right up as the most beautiful game.”
The Fiji Times Editor-in-chief Fred Wesley said the newspaper would give out the full football package to the fans.
“It is the first time The Fiji Times has partnered with Fiji FA and we are planning to cover football in a way which has never been covered before. We plan to have profiles, news which people can relate to in an exciting package every Tuesdays, “Wesley said.
