Fiji ends Indonesia tour on a stalemate

The Vodafone National Football team has concluded their Indonesia tour recording two scoreless draws.

After playing to a nil-all draw against the Indonesian National team on Saturday, the Christophe Gamel-coached side yet again registered the same result against Cilegon United FC at the Krakatau Steel Stadium in Jakarta.

The Frenchmen fielded all his young players with the experienced goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau and captain Remueru Tekiate leading from the defense.

It was an equally matched first half as Remueru, Kolinio Sivoki and Laisenia Raura organizing well in defense and Setareki Hughes breaking the Cilegon defense twice in the first half but hit the side netting on both occasions.

Fijian wonder boy Roy Krishna was introduced into the match three minutes before halftime and he added more fire-power in attack.

The Bula Boys started dominating the second half, controlling play, possession football creating opportunities however failing to get it finished.

Krishna was a thorn to the Cilegon defense as he neatly outclassed the defense and playing a through ball to Epeli Saukuru but the goalkeeper proved equally strong to deny the visitors to get on score board. Krishna once again beat three defenders and had his say on the goal, luckily to the Cilegon defense as his pile driver came off the post.

Hughes floated in a free-kick which was cleared off the defense only till Madhwan Goundar who came in with a volley from outside the 18-yard box, however the Cilegon goalkeeper once again bravely dived to his right to keep the score intact till the final whistle.
