The Vodafone Lautoka Football side will miss the services of rugged defender Ilatia Tuilau and midfielder Shazil Ali during the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Champions League quarterfinal match against AS Dragon of Tahiti this Sunday.
The duo had personal commitment and were not part of the team that departed our shores yesterday via New Zealand to Tahiti.
Team president Abdul Kadar said Shazil had work commitments while Tuilau was out because of family commitments.
“Both players have been dropped from the traveling squad because of their own commitments,” he confirmed.
Tuilau and Ali were very instrumental in Kamal Swamy coached side’s one-nil loss against the seven times champions Auckland City in their last pool match in Auckland last month.
Kadar also confirmed Cory Chettleburgh, who did not travel with the team from Fiji, has joined the Blues camp in New Zealand.
The Benaminio Mateinaqara-captained side settled well after arriving in New Zealand yesterday and had a light training session with South Auckland Rangers.
The team departs for Tahiti tomorrow and plays AS Dragon this Sunday at 6pm.
