B-License Coaching Course in Fiji

Five Fijian football coaches will get chance to further broaden their coaching skill when the FIFA/OFC B-License Coaching Course gets underway at Fiji Football Headquarters in Suva tomorrow.

Fiji FA Technical Director Ravinesh Kumar says week-long coaching course will be the second and final phase of the B-License coaching.

“Five of our local coaches participated in the first phase last year and they will continue in the second and final phase,”Kumar said.

Kumar said the coaches will benefit from this high profile course and will learn more aspects of football in theory and practical session.

“Coach Education is one of the pillars of the technical department of Fiji FA and this is the highest level of coaching in Oceania level now and we are very proud to host this course here in Fiji.”

“Fiji FA is supporting a lot in coach education and we recently finished C License and Youth License courses which were both FIFA courses,” said Kumar.

He hopes the five coaches will pass their final assessment and become great assets to the national coaching panel.

Vodafone Fiji national assistant coach Yogendra Dutt who is one the five participants from Fiji says he is proud to be part of the course as it will enhance his coaching skills.

“It’s very important for me as I have finished my first phase of the B- License course last yearand now I am moving up the rank and getting to learn more about coaching. This course will allow me to learn more on the technical aspects of the game and I am keen to learn as much as I can,” said Dutt.

Fiji’s participants in the course are Lautoka’s Anginesh Prasad, Vodafone national assistant coach Yogendra Dutt, Labasa’s Roneel Lal, Tavua’s Saroj Kumar and Ba’s Sunil Kumar.

About 24 participants from around the region will be part of the week-long course.

The OFC B Licence is an advanced course designed to introduce concepts that are targeted towards coaching players aged 17 years old to senior.

It builds upon the content delivered in the OFC C and D Licenses and provides further knowledge on how to plan, deliver and evaluate practical sessions.
