Vodafone Fiji national coach Frank Farina has included vetran Rewa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau, Ba utility Avinesh Waran Swamy,
Ba defender Alvin Singh, Lautoka defender Samuela Kautoga and Nadi midfielder Munit Krishna in the 25-member Fiji Olympic squad to prepare for the tour.
Farina said he has drafted these senior players in the squad and would be taking them to the tour as under the Olympic rules- three overage players can play.
“I will be taking some of the senior players with the U23s to the tour but we will decide which three will play during the Rio Olympics.
“This will give opportunities to the senior players to show what they can do and if they fit into the team and that’s what I will be looking at.
The former star striker said this is the first time the team is doing into camp since he came in.
“I have seen some of them and it’s a learning thing for me to get to know them.
“We have left the door open for some players and we will keep our eye open for them and if needed we will get them for the trials as we have ample time for the Olympics.”
Farina said the camp would be from December 7-20. The squad will go on a Christmas break before rejoining camp on January. 4, 2016.
The team leaves for Spain on January 13.
