Fiji FA receives $320,000

Commission chairman Peter Maizey said the $200,000 would go towards the preparation and participation of the Fiji U20 team to the World Cup.#“It is part of the commission and the government to show commitment to the development of football in the country,” he said.#“It is great pathway as we have just seen our two teams participating in the OFC Champions League and that shows club development in the country.#“We hope this fund will boost the morale of the players and come out victors in the competition.”#Fiji FA chief executive officer Bob Kumar thanked the Commission and Government for their timely assistant as the team would depart for Australia in two weeks time.#“We have done our best to prepare the team for the World Cup as we know it’s a very expensive affair in preparing a team for the world stage.” #Kumar said the grant would surely help in the preparation and participation of the team in the World Cup.#Furthermore, Fiji FA also received a grant of $120,000 for U17 team that participated in the OFC U17 playoffs in January this year.#Maizey said the $120,000 is for reimbursement of Fiji FA’s own funds used in the preparation and participation of the U17 team at the OFC U17s Championship in Samoa.# #The total amount handed over was $320,000.#Fiji FA Media#
