Board and Council Meeting #The Fiji Football Association board and council meeting will be held this weekend at the Fun World Plaza Hotel in Nadi.#Various issues will be discussed and plans finalised at the meeting as this is a very important year for the national football body.#Top of the agenda will be the national under-19 team which is preparing for the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Under-19 playoffs. With New Zealand not being part of the playoffs one of the island side is set to qualify and we cannot afford to let this opportunity go by.#The dates for the three major tournaments and national team commitments are other important matters which will be finalised. #My message to the council members (district officials) is to attend the meeting on Sunday as you will get a chance to voice your opinions, in constructive manner and the right forum.# Congratulations Ba#Congratulations to the 4R Electrical Ba side for winning the first major championship of the 2014 season. It took three tough matches to decide the winner and a good turnout was present during the series.#Big thanks to sponsors Pillays Garment for their continued support towards Fiji FA and the Champion vs Champion series over the years.#For Ba and Nadi the journey has just started.#The Oceania Champions League is around the corner and I urge both these sides to prepare well in order to make the country and their fans proud.#National U19 #The National Under 19 squad is in camp and preparing well for the upcoming Oceania Football Confederation U19 World Cup playoffs. Under the guidance of coach Ravinesh Kumar the team has been training and is focused on the task ahead of them. The district teams have to put the Nation first instead of the district to help us secure our first world cup playoff dream.#The venue for the playoffs is yet to be determined. Earlier it was told that the playoffs will be held in New Zealand but later the decision was turned as few island placed their bids to host the event. This might cause some hiccups to our programme but overall we are positive of a successful campaign.# Fiji FA MEDIA #
