Ba makes perfect start

The Stallions made a firing start as they created hiccups to the Ba defense from the very first whistle.#With former Lautoka reps Leisari Qalica and Cyrus Singh upfront, Ba defenders Alvin Singh, Remueru Tekiate and Josefata Neibuli had to work overtime while goalkeeper Josaia Ratu made some daring saves to deny the opposition strikers from finding the net.#But it was experience which made the overall difference in the match.#Josefata Neibuli headed-in the opener for Ba in the 13th minute following a floating corner kick from Avinesh Waran Swamy.#Another experienced marksman Malakai Tiwa doubled the lead for the Men in Black in 37th minute after the Nadroga defense failed to clear a corner kick yet again from Avinesh Swamy. Ba led 2-0 at half time.#Nadroga dominated most of the possession in the second half showing their utter determination to bounce back with numerous scoring opportunities, however finishing led them down as Ba secured maximum points from the encounter.#Ba coach Imdad Ali was satisfied with the result.#“It was a good game, but the ground condition was not very good as the ball was very bouncy,” he said.#“We worked on set-pieces which worked well and these are strategies we normally use. #“Overall, the boys did well and I’m happy with the three points.”#Nadroga coach Ramesh Sharma said playing an experienced side like Ba has never been easy. #“I’m happy that my boys played a very enterprising football,” he said.#“The two goals could have demoralized our players. We had some very good scoring chances but we just could not finish it off. #“This game is gone now but we will surely bounce back.”#
