Rewa Youth maintan unbeaten run

The Baby Tigers who have won the National Youth League title for the past six years thrashed Tailevu Naitasiri 6-2 in their third match at the Fiji FA Academy Grounds in Vatuwaqa last Saturday.#Kini Madigi, son of former Ba, Rewa and National rep Ravuama Madigi was the hero after scoring a hat trick against neighbors Tailevu Naitasiri.#Madigi who made his debut for the Delta Tigers scored the opener in the first minute of play after receiving a through pass from his midfielders.He neatly put the ball behind the net beating Naitasiri goalkeeper Parish Raghu who had no chance of stopping it.#The Nigel Khan coached- side were enjoying the lead when but lack concentration by the defense in the 19 minute saw Tailevu Naitasiri striker Nicholas Veredali scored the equalizer.#Rewa stared to show their usual game and in the 25th minute Riteek Chand, younger brother of Suva and National rep Nickel Chand extended their lead with a powerful drive from outside the penalty box.#Five minutes later Madigi scored his second goal after beating two Tailevu Naitasiri defenders and went to breather leading 3-1.#In the second half the baby Tigers came firing and in the 47th minute Nikil Prasad extended Rewa’s lead 4-1.#Tailevu Naitasiri’s Amitesh Goundar found the net in the 52 minute while Chand got his double in the 78th minute and Madigi scored his hat trick in the 79th minute.#Rewa coach Nigel Khan was impressed with the performance of his boys.#“We won 6-2 a little better than last game despite not having four of our regular players who are part of the Muslim teams in the Muslim Inter District Championship in Suva and two players have been called in to join the Regional Academy team, “said Khan.#Khan who is aiming a seventh consecutive title for the Baby Delta Tigers said this year would tougher as all teams are preparing well.# “We had very big task in front of us but we will do our best to retain our title.#Khan said Rewa has a good development squad for the past six years and which has been very fruitful for the district.#Tailevu Naitasiri coach Elvis Goundar said he was not disappointed but expected the outcome of the match today.#‘I expected the result something like this because most of our players are not here as they are having their Saturday classes and I have to field some of the players who have never played in any competition.#Rewa now lead the Vodafone Youth League points table winning all three matches.#The Baby Tigers will face Nasinu at 10am this Saturday at Fiji FA Academy Grounds in Vatuwaqa.#
